I'M ENGAGED!!!

It finally happened!! Here's the story.
Last Wednesday was my 21st birthday. I was waiting all day for him to propose. He knew I was waiting. So at dinner he said "Kalie, we aren't getting engaged tonight. I don't have a ring. I haven't talked to your Dad. And I'm just not ready." I was of course super bummed. So being the brat that I am, I just wanted to go home and go to bed. (I am currently living in Spencer's parents spare bedroom because my parents house is full.) So around one in the morning, Spencer came and woke me up and said he had one more present for me. He picked me up and carried me down two flights of stairs to the basement. He had the fire place lit and he told me to stand in front of it and wait. He went into the other room and came back in and gave me a big hug and whispered into my ear "Kalie, I love you with my whole heart. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. (And then he said some things in Spanish because I always make him tell me why he loves me in Spanish. So it was very apporpriate for him to talk to me in Spanish while asking me to marry him)" Then he grabbed my right hand and said "is this the right hand?" I laughed and gave him my left hand. Then he got down on his knee and said "Kalie, will you marry me?" And then I of course got a huge smile on my face and jumped into his arms and said "YES!!!" And then I couldn't take my eyes off the shiny thing he put on my finger! And all I wanted to do was call my family and tell them. But I decided to wait all the way into the morning. I couldn't fall asleep until three in the morning and then I woke up at seven. And went over to my parents house to wake everyone up and tell them the big news! They were all so excited! We are getting married on May 20th, 2010. I am real excited about it. I am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world to be marrying Spence. He is such an amazing boy and I seriously cannot wait to become Mrs. Kalie DeMann. Yay!!

Where to Begin...

(Sorry the spacing is all sorts of off on this post. I'm struggling real bad with this blogging thing and I give up)
So very many things to say.
How do I write my whole life (well the last 6 months anyways) into one post?
With pictures of course.

Just beware, this cute boy I know will be in almost all of them.
There have been trips:

So Cal. This was my very first time swimming in the ocean. At 20 years old.

A weekend get-a-way to Echo Lake.

San Fran.

There have been lots and lots of dates with my stinkin adorable boyf:

The snow cone shack.

Bee's games with our favorite couple.

Golfing. (one of my very favorite dates)
Real Game. Front row seats.
ndb. (no big deal)

Plenty of time spent on our bench at the park.

Lots of wedding dates. None of which were ours.
A Rodeo Date.

 A date to the fair.
(This is the very last picture my poor little camera took before the man working the big yellow slide dropped it and broke it.)

And my very favorite date of all. The Symphony. Such a classy date.

Other random things we've done include:

Parades.

Lots of Fireworks.

Birthday Parties.

Lots of Chili's.

Temple Open House.

Pretty much I've had a very exciting life these last few months.
In case you couldn't tell.

10.13.2009

Take That.

Before you read this post.
Read this one.

Now that we have that out of the way I can continue. I just want to throw out that my boyf is the best sport in the whole world.
He puts up with a lot from me.
He is a very kind and patient person.
And also very competitive.
Which is why when he found out about the engagement photo contest at the Johnson home,
he willingly let me dress him up and allowed a photographer to follow us around.

Lacey and Tyson, Good luck beating this.

Ps. These pictures are oozing with cheese and love.
Be warned.

For those of you who didn't catch on... THESE ARE NOT REAL.
Although, I do love this boy. A lot.

Thanks Mom.

I found these really awesome pictures and thought you guys might like to see them.
Thanks Katie.

My whole life in one post...

So don't worry, I made it home from Germany alive. Almost two months ago. Sorry for those of you who only know about my life from this blog. Which I don't think are any of you. Anyways, I am alive. You better sit down and get ready for a ridiculously long post.

Firstly, I want to apologize for those of you who have been waiting for the big Germany post (Mostly Maga.) I have been spending any and all free time with this stinking adorable boy.
Who is currently running the Wasatch Back, which is why I am writing this. I have some free time. It's odd. And oh yeah...I chopped off all my hair before going to Europe. Like 13 inches of it.

So let's see. Germany. I will try to make this as quick as possible. Which is pretty much impossible. So please, bear with me.

Football, aka soccer, game. AMAZING! Europeans are crazy about this stuff.
My first real taste of Germany. Freaking delish.

Amazing cheese bread. Sold by people who carry wicker baskets around the stadium. Way better than popcorn or peanuts that you would find at an American sporting event.

Next, Downtown Dusseldorf.

This street is where I fell in love with Europe.

Rhine River. Rhine Tower.

Worlds Smallest, and most pointless, Escalator.

I promise I'm not really this white, it's the Polaroid.

Amazing lit up benches.

Road Trip with Jes and Daphne.

How I spent most of the road trip.

First Stop- Frankfurt Temple

Next- Heidelberg.

The inside of the castle.

The view of Heidelberg from the top of the castle.

A pastry shop with all sorts of delicious treats. None of which I ate. Silly me.

We saw some girls do this and decided we should to.

Next Stop- Dachau Concentration Camp. Not a happy place.

Front Gate that says "Work Makes Free"

Bunk Beds.

Next- Munich

My very first Hostel Experience. Could not have been more perfect. Loved the drunk boys from Chicago that we shared a room with. Thank you Wombats.

Mode in Munich.

I may or may not get struck by lightening for this picture. But I just really couldn't help myself.

The Glockenspiel.

Beautiful park in Munich.

Ice Cream in the park. Which I ordered all by myself. In German.

Having a beer in the Beer Gardens. When in Germany...

Next Stop- Neuschwanstein. Aka Cinderella's Castle.

Austria.

Welcome To Austria.

Campfire in the Alps.

Church in Austria. Didn't understand a single word.

So tired from backpacking through Europe.

Me and the girls.

Jessica and her kinder.

I bought my very own alcohol. Without even getting asked for an i.d.

The baby in plastic wrap.

That pretty much sums up my trip to Germany. It was freaking amazing! I have so much more to say about things in my life. But I have had more than enough of blogging for today.

Blurbs

Here are my weekly blurbs.

I may cough up a lung today. I was just fine on Friday. Saturday morning I woke up and felt like someone had thrown a brick at my chest. I slept most of the day. Happy Valentine's Day to me! Then I went to the Monster Truck show. Which was FANTASTIC! So many awesome people there! I had no voice going in. And having to yell to even hear myself talk, didn't really help. I woke up this morning feeling even worse. Turns out dirt, and the smell of burnt rubber, don't really help a chest cold. Oh well.

The best part about my Valentine's day, I have thee BEST non-boyfriend boyfriend! He sent me these.

I am SO lucky to have him. Thanks Colb.

Also this week, the most exciting thing came in the mail for me.

I can offically leave the country now! My trip to Germany seems to get more and more real everyday. It's going to be amazing. I can't wait to spend time with my sissty on her turf. Word on the street says we are going to float down the local river. Yes, Jessica, I want to participate.

That's pretty much the only exciting things going on right now. This just proves how truly boring my life is.

Ich bin aus, um die Welt

Hello Everyone,

I am sorry I am such a slacker when it comes to the blogging world. I just feel like I never have anything exciting to write about. That however is not the case today. The most wonderful thing of my whole life is happening on April 20th.

I AM GOING TO GERMANY!!!

I have the most amazing job! My work gave me a bunch of Skymiles that are making this trip possible. Thank you MIRO.

I will be in Germany for 9 whole days. Just to hang out with my Jessica. We are going to visit castles, and palaces. And Amsterdam.
It's so much traveling all alone. But it will be well worth it.

I have never traveled outside of the country, so if anyone has traveling tips for me, I would love to hear them!

Now back to my normal boring life. The holiday's were really good to me. Lot's of time with my wonderful family. School started. Taking one class isn't too bad. But I will be in college for the rest of my life. Oh well.

Here, you can have some pictures of the last two months in my life.

Reccent Haps: Disneyworld = AMAZING!!!!, Boating in St Geezy, Vegas (No Pics), Halloween & Joshua Radin and Missy Higgins Concert. I am sure I will put some more stories and pics up soonish.

Vegas Baby

Last weekend I took a little weekend getaway with Lace and a couple of friends, to good old St Geezy. The weather was perfect. Sitting by the pool was perfect. ( I think I even got a little bit of a tan.) And of course, Vegas was PERFECT. I haven't spent much time there so it was great getting to know Sin City. I didn't take a single picture in St George. And only managed to get a few pics in Vegas. I loved the trip and hope there are many more to come!
